Good-Bye Poetry

No Time for Talk

I tried to tell you how it was,

How I was starting to fall out of love.

But, you never listened to me.

I tried to tell you that I noticed you were

Breaking away from my embrace.

I noticed that you stayed out a little longer each night.

I noticed we stopped having dinner together.

You went on more out of town business trips,

But no extra money came into the house.

I tried to talk to you about it,

But you always said I was out of pocket,

That it wasn’t like that.

I guess you were happy in your new world.

You didn’t need me bringing you down because,

You had someone else who was exciting your world.

I was turned into your slacker.

But don’t ever think I never knew.

I never had to go to Cheaters, because

I already knew we fell apart.

Then, I fell out of love,

Because you never listened to me

And now, we are done.

I am gone.

Advantage Gone
You rarely looked at or greeted me,

whenever you entered the door;

You never helped to clean the house,

Not even to sweep the floor.

Whenever I wanted to talk to you,

you told me you didn't have the time;

When it came to paying the household bills,

you never put in a single dime.

When we talked, you were impatient,

as if I were a child;

You watched my cable television,

paying nothing, but laughing loud.

If ever I wanted to go somewhere,

you made me pay the bill.

You always ordered the best food and drink,

while I watched you have your fill.

Now that I've asked you to leave my house,

you say you don't know why;

Well, now you'll have plenty of time to think about it,

'Cause this woman is saying good-bye.

Jumping Ship
  It's time for me to get up off this

Sinking Ship,

Where men crawl through my life

Like mice,

Constantly looking for my cheese to eat,

While I pay and get a whisker in my face

Every now and then

In return.

It's time for me to row my boat shore,

Where I can land on solid ground,

So I can breathe fresh air, and dew,

And see flowers blooming,

Instead of the rotting corpses

Of all the other women

You've had and burned.

I've paid my dues;

Now I refuse

To stay on board and

Continue to lose

My self-respect,

So I'm jumping ship

By leaving your ass.

Farewell to All, you Fools!!

Stay on this ship,

And you'll continue to lose.

Get off that moldy deck

Where insanity rules,

And regain your self-respect.

Jump off that dirty mast,

And leave his crusty ass!

Talk to the Hand
  We're not okay,

Despite what you think;

You're not into labels,

And all I get is the wink.

It's only when you want it

That we are more than friends;

All other times I have no title,

Which is just another label

With a negative spin.

You fear the label 'commitment',

That's not a secret my friend;

So we're not okay anymore:

This relationship is coming to an end.
